    Foundations of Classroom Management Course - Fall 2014 (Zerpoli)

    This area is a "help" area for teachers and staff

    The course includes information on the history of Adult Education, instructional methodologies, instructional media and materials, safety, computer technology in education, and students with special needs. Prerequisite: Completion of Principles of Adult Instruction (Level 1).

    This class will fulfill the educational requirements for the Supervision and Coordination credential. This credential will authorize the holder to supervise and coordinate subjects and classes in all types of Career Technical and Adult Education Designated Subjects programs.

    This course provides instruction for teachers with Designated Subjects Career Technical and Adult Education teaching credentials (also Multiple Subjects and Single Subjects) to meet the requirements of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) in the area of Health Education. It also provides for personal information and application in the area of health issues, related laws, and safety issues to assist in the protection of the instructor. Appropriate teaching strategies for sharing health information with students, including nutrition, substance abuse, and where to seek training in First Aid and CPR for infants, children, and adults is included.

    Foundations of CTE Classroom Management Course - Winter 2014 - Burbank/online (Moore)

    This course provides candidates in the Designated Subjects Career Technical Education and Adult Education Credential Program with an understanding of how to use statewide resources for curriculum planning and development including standards-based course outlines, lesson plans, and assessments. Prerequisite: Foundations of Classroom Management with a grade of C or better.

    This course provides candidates in the Designated Subjects Career Technical Education and Adult Education Credential Program with an understanding of how to use statewide resources for curriculum planning and development including standards-based course outlines, lesson plans, and assessments.     This course provides teacher candidates in the Designated Subjects CTE Credential Program with an understanding of how to teach occupationally oriented content to English Learners (ELLs) who are acquired different levels of fluency.  It is a required course for completing the Commission on Teacher Credentialing requirements within the first two years of obtaining your Designated Subjects Preliminary Credential.  In the English Learners in CTE Class we cover stages of language acquisition, nonlinguistic representations, cooperative learning, and Specially Designated Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE) teaching strategies, and reflect on how these factors come together in the classroom.  Background principles underlying the cultural, linguistic, and sociocultural contexts and foundations of learning will be explored.
